Coir Geotextiles

Coir Geotextiles

Coir geotextiles find extensive use in civil engineering applications, such as slope stabilization on hill slopes, embankments for roads and railways, and more.

  • Made from 100% organic fiber, coir geotextiles are a sustainable and eco-friendly option. They are biodegradable and decompose over time, usually within 2.5 to 6 years.
  • Its a 100% organic fibre, from a renewable source.
  • The fiber is strong and can be spun and woven into matting that provides sufficient strength and durability to protect slopes from erosion while promoting vegetation growth.
  • Coir geotextiles can absorb water and prevent topsoil from drying out, thus facilitating the growth of new vegetation. They can also absorb excess solar radiation and dissipate the energy of flowing water.
  • These geotextiles allow for the passage of air, water, and light, which is necessary for deep rooting of plants. The nettings break up runoff from heavy rains and dissipate the energy of flowing water and wind.

Installation of coir geotextiles is simple and easy, and they can withstand human and animal movement without any deterioration.
